Perhaps this Blog should be entitled, "Giving,is better than receiving, even if it hurts!"
Now, as perhaps never before, in the history of US residential real estate, do home sellers, home buyers, clients and customers, past and present, been in absolute need of sound, compassionate, professional, down-to-earth, real estate advice, guidance and assistance.
We, I believe, as individuals,Realtors, agents and and firms, have a moral and ethical obligation to go beyond the normal real estate business brokerage practices especially in this financial and economic climate.
Individuals, families, young and old, rich and poor everywhere need our real estate expereince, wit, wisdom and most of all help. Those who live, work and dwell in big cities, or small towns; or in rich and poor communities, or who live in rural communities, really and truly need our real estate sound, practical, realistic input, advice and counsel.
" 'Tis the Season to be Jolly," and face it, home values are down, the market is extra slow and difficult, financing is in a confused state-of affairs and people & families want, and some times need to buy and sell.
Every one's 401K or Roth have seen better days. Gloom and doom is the media sound-bite of the second.
Sometimes we just all need to perform some Pro Bono work ( for free!) for the better good of the enire commonweal.
Sometimes Pro Bono work is not accepting a grossly overpriced listing; or perhaps kindly, gently and professionally, informing a couple, to just wait-out the market.
Sometimes it's freely giving, and with no glimmer of even a hope of a commission, some advice or assitance to a family facing forclosure.
Sure, we all need to make a living, we all have bills and obligations and we are all constantly chasing the Almighty buck, even when gasoline is high or low.
But these are tough times for everyone. Like it or not you may well way ahead of the curve.
So, my advice is to stop complain and just help out others. Every little will help.
And remember: This too shall pass!
Bill
