Words from Marcus Aurelius

Many, if not most, in the real estate industry and professional today are either depressed, discouraged or confused. Yet market swings and fluctuations are the nature of the business.

What to do?

At times like these I often reflect on these words of Marcus Aurelius:

"Every moment think steadily as a Roman and man to do what you have to do with perfect and simple dignity, and kindliness, and freedom, and justice, and to give yourself relief from all other thoughts. And you will give yourself relief, if you do every act of your life as if it were the last, renouncing all carelessness and passionate resistance to the commands of reason, and all hypocrisy, and self-love, and discontent with the portion which has been given to you. You see how few the things are which a man needs to lay hold of in order to live life which flows in quiet, and is like the life of the gods, for the gods on their part will require nothing more from him who observes these things."

So do what you now " have to do...."
