The more I read and scan the daily and weekly newspapers, business and trade journals, listen to the radio and watch brain-dead television, the more I realise that "patience" is in order.
Such an archaic word for our ultra fasted-pace, do-it-now world!
We demand all things, services, and goods right now, if not sooner.
We've all lost the ancient wisdom of simple patience. ( Simple and not "easy").
Per my very old, Webster's International Dictionary, 2nrd Edition,The state of being
patient, is the fact or practice of enduing, working, waiting, enduing. And these words
fly off from the page " endurance, fortitude, submission, acquiescence, self-control,
resignation. "
We have problems, issues, and the financial and economic system is broken, the body of society, nationally and globally, is ill.
Those in command, those in charge need the wisdom, brains and power to fix the broken, and hopefully begin to cure the ill and restore the body to health.
Allow them in power the time to set plans and program into motion; and more time to see if the bold changes and initiatives will work.
This is going to take time. No fast, presto, 30 minute TV-time solutions.
And the very word " patience" will not set well with those seeking a miracle or instant cure. But I truly believe we'll all be much better off, in both the short and long term, if we learn to now to properly endure.
"This too shall pass!"
